Yobdar Crafts is founded by Amsale Berhanu in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with the goal of producing Hand loom woven textile accessories, made from natural fibers and leather craft accessories, uniting the Ethiopian heritage of weaving and crafting, with modern refinement for local and export market in ethically and sustainable manner.
Amsale completed her high school diploma at Nazareth School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She also earned a diploma in Ticketing & Reservation from Ethiopian Airlines and has amassed extensive experience in SMEs over the last fifteen years as the General Manager of Shama Travel and Tour Agency. Driven by her passion for crafting, she transitioned into the business world and, under the management of AWONTA Apparel Manufacturing PLC, founded YOBDAR Crafts in March 2017.
Amsale has taken an intensive course in Leather Goods finishing and light manufacturing processes in Bangkok, Thailand, and participated in an extension training program in Weaving and Textile Dyeing at the Vocational and Technical School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is an experienced and excellent administrator with hands-on knowledge of the local labor market, textile production, and the retail sector in the country.
